Syrian Children Join the Anti-Assad Revolution in Ma'arat al-Nu'man, Syria

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
وَأَعِدُّواْ لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ(ألأنفال: 60)
Children from Ma'arat al-Nu'man, Idlib Governorate, Syria, joined the revolution against the Assad regime.

"The world should not blame us because we cannot sit cross-armed [idly] while we watch the blood of our people being spilled before our eyes. We have the right to defend our childhood, which was forsaken by the beastly al-Assad army," said she.

Security Forces Detain Juveniles, Occupy Schools

(New York) – Syrian army and security officers have detained and tortured children with impunity during the past year, Human Rights Watch said today. Human Rights Watch has documented at least 12 cases of children detained under inhumane conditions and tortured, as well as children shot while in their homes or on the street. Human Rights Watch has also documented government use of schools as detention centers, military bases or barracks, and sniper posts, as well as the arrest of children from schools.
